February 3, 2009

I have arrived in Kampala Ugandawith no problems. The prayers were heard and answered: I think every item on Jan's prayer sheet came true exactly as written! I am in the process of getting a Visa from the Sudanese Embassy. I am staying in a retreat center that is small with a bed, desk, and mosquito netting only. I woke up today to the sounds of Islamic chanting being blasted through loudspeakers in the town! My flight to Sudan occurs Thursday AM--- I should be there by 1PM if the Lord wills.

  2. Pastor, may the Lord work through you and touch many, many lost sheep with His holy word. You must be thrilled to be called to this ministry! Love from Tennessee, Diane

  3. It's good to hear things are going as planned. You might want to leave some extra cash and take that mosquito netting with you! The staff will be meeting each morning to pray for you and your work--louder than the Islamic chants! The Lord be with you.

  4. Great to hear all is going well. Stacy and I are following your blog daily. Do the mosquitos remind you of the ones in Pierce. You continue to be in our prayers.

  5. Of course every item on Jan's prayer sheet would come true exactly as written. Would you ever think of not doing it Jan's way? She is kind but firm after all!! Glad to hear things are going so well. My family will pray that all continues to go as well over the rest of your trip.

  6. By the way, your prayers may not have been louder than the Islamic chanting but I'll bet they were much more persuasive!

  7. Pastor, Matt 6:7 -- God knows what you need even before you ask (I KNOW you know this...) but this verse came to me and I passed it on to you. May God continue to richly bless you and your family!

P.S. Don't you feel like Daniel -- when everyone around him worshipped the emporer and he continued to worship God?

    Peace to you!!

  8. So glad to hear our prayers are being answered and your travel is going well so far. May God continue to be with you as you "Share the Living Water of Jesus Christ" with a thirsty world - all the way in Sudan!
